QUANTUM SERIES FLY RODS
Reimagining Euro nymphing fly rods New Zealand Tongariro

All details have been brought together in the design of these rods from precision engineered blank and components to aesthetically beautiful cork and wood burl.  The CTS blank is manufactured in New Zealand, all REC components are manufactured in USA, the cork is grown in Portugal and the burl wood imported from Canada and Europe.

THE  BLANK

  • Lightweight and powerful, the custom designed Quantum Series rods feature high sensitivity, reactivity and perfect balance.

  • The New Zealand made CTS blanks utilise high modulus carbon to produce a helical core that is the most effective way of maintaining cross-sectional stability during bending to create a fly rod that is more responsive and more sensitive.

  • The natural unsanded finish helps reduce monofilament nylon Euro leaders clinging to the rod in wet conditions.

  • The four-piece rod has section alignment markers in antique gold for convenient fitting.

  • Each rod comes protected in a REC Cotton Drill Rod Bag and a REC Aluminium Rod Tube engineered from high strength, lightweight aircraft grade tubing with decorative gold anodised end caps.

THE  GUIDES

  • Ultralight single-foot REC Recoil Nickel Titanium ‘shape memory’ alloy guides with Black Pearl finish are extremely duarable and non-corrosive.

  • REC Recoil guides made in USA are significantly lighter than conventional stainless steel guides to enhance rod action with increased tip speed, reduced swing weight and faster recovery.

  • Large number of guides to reduce line sag when Euro nymphing and distribute line pressure when playing fish.

  • Guide wrappings used are rich brown on the Quantum Elite #3 or dark olive on the Quantum Power #4 to create a stealthy, functional style. Both are enhanced with antique gold accents.

THE REEL SEAT

THE CORK HANDLE

  • The lightweight REC ABGS downlocking reelseat is constructed from uniquely shaped milled black high strength, hardened, aircraft grade alloy that is anodised to withstand rigorous use.

  • Stunning Amboyna and Redwood burl are sourced from woodturning suppliers around the world for the reelseat inserts, shaped on our lathe as part of our handcrafted approach.

  • Each reel insert is finished with a natural oil blend to render it water resistant.

  • The 8 inch cork handle is longer than other single handed fly rods to allow greater control of the rod and is lathed down to a thinner diameter than most fly rods to increase feel and sensitivity to bites.

  • The exquisite top flor grade cork handle is tipped with composite cork for durability and is subtly inlaid with burl cork to enhance the aesthetic quality of the rod.

  • A lathe sanded composite cork fighting butt gives additional control when playing fish as well as protecting the reel seat and  enhancing swing weight.
